A metal hydroxide forms when a metal reacts with water. Metal Carbonates are a type of base that produce a salt, water and carbon dioxide when they react with an acid. We take a closer look at the reactions that occur when we react acids with metal hydroxides and acids with metal carbonates. We investigate the general reactions and look at some examples of each of the types of reactions.
